Blogging about Blogs
I'm suddenly thinking of an episode of Phineas and Ferb in which some hipster in a coffee shop says something like " Yeah I'm all about my blog, where I blog about other blogs."
Well that's what I'm doing today. For my digitech class we were assigned to look up blog readers and blogs.
The blog reader I chose as my favorite is called "Feedreader." It has no frills, no extras, no special connections, and that is perfect for me. I just want something that is utterly simple and easy to use. I like the fact that its web-based, so I can access it wherever, and I don’t have to worry about ads or anything.
I also needed to choose 5 blogs in which to follow. So I'll name them and tell you why I chose them.
1. Margie’s must reads, https://margiesmustreads.com/
This is a book blog by my school's amazing librarian. It's pretty entertaining and talks about a lot of books, particularly ones of teen fiction.
2. Lispy Librarian, https://lispylibrarian.weebly.com/
I met this librarian at a conference this past winter, in which she was holding a session on graphic novels. She is now in fact the chair for the Maverick committee. Her blog is a book talk vlog.
3. #alliethelibrarian, https://gosynth.com/s/c/ippfvh
This is another librarian who does book talks. She's based in a library in the same region as me, so i feel our population may be similar. I attended a session by her at the Texas Library Association's conference a couple months ago.
4. AASL, https://knowledgequest.aasl.org/
This professional organization is specifically about school libraries so they're likely to have pertinent information on their blog.
5. School Library Journal, https://www.slj.com/?subpage=blogs
Similar to my last choice, SLJ is a good source of information for school libraries.
Thanks for looking at my post today! Now go forth and find some good blogs of your own!

Feedreader is a great blog reader! I agree it is simple in design but that is what makes it easy to use. I know teachers will love the user-friendly design of Feedreader!
