Imaginary friends aren’t supposed to come back though. Jackson’s family is having money troubles again, and Jackson knows it. He puts on a brave face and tells himself it doesn’t bother him, But Crenshaw is back to make him face the facts of his own feelings. Crenshaw deals with a subject that many books don’t. Poverty is a real issue that affects many children, but we don’t really like to talk about it. This book puts it on the forefront.
