A cat and a caterpillar
2 more easy readers! both with cat in them!

Dean, J. (2013) Pete the Cat: Pete At The Beach.
New York, NY: Harper Collins
Pete and his
family take a trip to the beach. While
his brother takes immediately to the water, Pete is reluctant and stays on the
beach. Eventually, His family is able to
slowly coax him into the water, where he has a lot of fun.
A
cat who doesn’t like water? That doesn’t sound so strange to me. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant little
story. It has cats, which kids like to
see, and is easy to read. The pictures
of Pete being awkward on the surfboard are pretty funny too.
Carle, E. (1969) The
Very Hungry Caterpillar. New York, NY: Philomel Books
This book follows the journey of a
caterpillar as he attempts to appease his insatiable hunger. He eats and eats until he makes himself
sick. Then he pupates, and turns to a
butterfly.
This book is a much loved
classic. The pictures are cute and
colorful, and the story easy to follow. The
pages are cut in a unique way. Some are
shorter than others, and some have holes in them where the caterpillar was
eating. Most children quite enjoy this
book.
