Feel like a good cry?

Paterson, K. (1977) Bridge to Terabithia.  New York, NY: Harper Collins
Jesse Aarons just doesn’t quite seem to fit.  He is the only boy amongst 4 sisters, he just passes the day through school, and has an eye for art and beauty that no one else seems to share.    Then one day a strange girl moves in nearby.  She doesn’t seem to fit either, and almost seems to relish in it.  While at first Jess doesn’t want anything to do with her, an incident at school begins to plant the seed of friendship.  Perhaps the can fit together.
Bridge to Terabithia is a beautifully written book that will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotion.  It is cleverly written, Paterson just sucks you right into the story and makes you fall in love with her characters.  This a good book to teach about friendship, exploring your talents, and loss.
