Whip it! Now Whip it Good!
This Weeks blog is about an super cool graphic novel called Rapunzel's Revenge. I actually read this one a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. So when I saw I needed to read it for my Kid's Lit class I was excited.

Hale, S., & Hale, D. (2008)Rapunzel’s Revenge. New York, NY:
Bloomsbury U.S.A. Children’s Books
As far as
Rapunzel can remember, she’s always lived in huge villa surrounded by a
beautiful garden owned by her mother, Gothel.
Her life in this paradise though, doesn’t last. Rapunzel eventually finds out that Gothel is
not her mother, destroyed her real family, and is holding the country in an
iron grip with her growth magic. Gothel
then seals Rapunzel in a tower within a far away swamp. But Rapunzel’s hair begins to grow, and she
becomes quite adept at using it. After a
few years, she makes her escape and vows to put an end to Gothel’s reign.
Rapunzel’s Revenge is an exciting and
adventurous twist to an old tale. In
this story the damsel isn’t in distress, she’s the valiant hero. It’s a fantasy story with a Wild West motif
that is just so unique. The Hales create
a graphic novel that is creative, funny,
action packed, and even a tad bit romantic.
