Are these poems backwards?/ Backwards poems these are!

Singer, M. (2010) Mirror Mirror. New York, NY: Dutton Books for Young Readers
Marilyn Singer has created a book of reverse poems about fairy tales.  Reading a reverse poem backwards makes a new poem.  Each poem is written next to its backwards counterpart. Often enough, the backwards version offers the opposite point of view in the story.  The beast and the beauty, Sleeping beauty and her prince, as well as other familiar characters all make appearances in the book.
Each of these poems is wonderfully creative. It’s amazing that Singer has created these poems that can be red backwards or forwards.  With each poem the anticipation builds on what the next poem will be about.  It’s  a very fun read for any age.
